I founded NorCal Conservation to apply drone technology to wetland restoration in the SF Baylands. Using my FAA commercial Part 107 drone license, I mapped over 1,000 acres at Sunnyvale Baylands and Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge , producing orthomosaic models for conservation planning. This research led to my selection as the only high school presenter at the State of the SF Estuary Conference, where I shared findings with researchers, policymakers, and community advocates. Abstract, Poster link.
At San José State University’s Moss Landing Marine Labs, I supported drone based 3D mapping and GIS flood zone analysis along Monterey Bay in support of NOAA grant. This data is used by researchers and city planners to inform waterpolicy and climate adoption. This role taught me how engineering moves from field methods into actionable policy.
I founded Rooted as student athletes led non-profit organization to promote youth participation in conservation efforts and advocate policy changes due to urbanizations in fragile SF wetlands ecosystem.
Presented NorCal Conservation initiatives in mapping SF Baylands to 30+ professionals at Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) meeting & established long term partnership to support future mapping initiatives.
